Spa practitioner training and operations support: building a team so your business does not depend on one person

Lương Y (traditional healer) Tống Văn Huynh · Tong Gia Acupoint Wellness (Huyệt Đạo Tống Gia) · 21/10/2026

Quick summary: Spa practitioner training in Tong Gia's L4 course teaches business owners how to hire, teach and check practitioners' skills along the L2–L3 ladder, how to organize the front desk and work shifts, and how to run daily operations. This is the fifth part of the L4 Master and Transfer course, along with Tong Gia's support during the period when a business first adopts the model.

Why wellness businesses often "break" at the staffing stage

A familiar story at many shops: clients only accept one practitioner, and when that practitioner leaves, the clients follow. New staff each work in their own way, so a client coming for the second time finds it different from the first. The owner has to work on clients personally and no longer has time for anything else.

The root of the problem is that skills live in each person's head and have not become a shared routine. The staffing part of the L4 course helps business owners turn skills into a system: everyone who joins is taught the same way and checked against the same standard.

Hiring the right people

Tong Gia shares how to choose people: prioritize attitude, patience and hands that are willing to learn over previous experience. People who are used to working by habit sometimes have to relearn from scratch. The course includes interview questions and ways to have candidates do a trial run.

Teaching along the L2 – L3 ladder

New practitioners learn the foundation at level L2 Core Trade Skills: muscle release and acupressure for the neck and shoulders, back and legs, the standard Tong Gia 90-minute session routine, and communicating with clients. Those with solid skills move up to L3 Specialist: five-organ wellness care, therapeutic-style massage with spinal nerve-reflex balancing, advanced Y Tướng Học (face reading for wellness). Business owners can send practitioners to study at Tong Gia, or use the SOPs to teach them in-house.

Periodic skill checks

The course provides a step-by-step checklist for the care session: welcoming the client, face reading, searching along the spine, the order of work, hand pressure, how to close the session, and how to advise the client. The owner or head practitioner uses this checklist to watch practitioners work and correct them, just as Lương Y guides each person in class, where about 70% of the time is hands-on practice on real people.

Knowing when not to work

Practitioners must know when to stop: if a client has prolonged pain, increasing numbness or weakness, or an unclear underlying condition, advise the client to see a doctor and do not take on the session. This is a mandatory principle in every business following the Tong Gia model.

Operations support: the daily tasks that keep a business running smoothly

  • Front desk: replying to messages, booking and reminding appointments, welcoming clients according to the sales process, recording visiting clients in the client management CRM.
  • Shifts and client assignment: scheduling shifts around peak hours, assigning clients according to skill level, recording clearly who is responsible for which client.
  • Space and hygiene: preparing rooms, towels and supplies before each session according to a checklist.
  • Short weekly meeting: reviewing the number of visiting clients, returning clients, client feedback and things to fix.
  • Business procedures: massage is a conditional business line; owners need to research and complete the procedures in their locality. Tong Gia shares experience but does not handle the legal side on your behalf.

How Tong Gia supports you

During the period when a business first adopts the model, Lương Y Tống Văn Huynh and the Tong Gia team help partners adjust the routine, review practitioners' skills and resolve operational issues. The scope and duration of support are stated clearly when you register for the course, so both sides understand.

Tong Gia does not promise jobs for practitioners, and does not promise revenue or a payback period for businesses.

Tong Gia is a hands-on wellness care service, not a medical service. Businesses receiving the transfer also keep this principle: if a client has prolonged pain, increasing numbness or weakness, or an underlying condition, staff advise the client to see a doctor at a medical facility and do not take on the session in its place.
