Why the basic acupressure course at Tong Gia starts with “looking”
Most massage and acupressure courses teach you to memorize one routine for everyone. Tong Gia teaches the other way around: learn to understand the body first, then learn to place your hands. The reason lies in the Y Tướng Học foundation that Lương Y uses every day: the outward form and the internal organs are both nourished by Qi and Blood; “the organs are the cause, the features are the effect”. An uneven shoulder or a stiff area of the back is not just a mechanical matter, so the practitioner needs to know how to look before pressing.
That is why the first level of the ladder (L1) teaches observation, while the hands-on skills for working with clients are in the second level (L2). You choose your starting point based on your goal.
What the basic acupressure course covers: L1 and L2

- A few safe self-care acupoints to use on yourself and your parents at home.
- Practice in pairs: observing and filling in observation sheets, with Lương Y correcting each pair.

Instructor
The levels were built, and are personally taught, by Lương Y Tống Văn Huynh, founder of Huyệt Đạo Tống Gia. Tong Gia cares for clients every day at its two branches in District 12 and Vinhomes Grand Park using Y Tướng Học and the spinal nerve-reflex balancing method, so what students learn is a routine that is genuinely in use.
Lương Y keeps one principle when teaching: reading features is only the first step; every observation from the face must be cross-checked by hand on the spine. This is why the class has so many practice hours.
